Her culinary experience began when she observed her mother testing recipes at home as she edited cookbooks. Guarnaschelli eventually became the chef-in-chief at Butter. Guarnaschelli is an Food Network Iron Chef America contestant, who was competing against Cat Cora for the Farmers Market Battle of 2007 during Iron Chef America. Since then, she has participated on the show as a guest judge. In addition, she competed at The Next Iron Chef Season Four in 2011 where she finished third. She also competed on the Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast episode and lost the competition. Following The Following Iron Chef's fourth season, she was made sous-chef for Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian. She also hosted The Food Network program The Cooking Loft, in conjunction with Alex Guarnaschelli. In this show, she instructed a group of students in small groups on how to create new dishes from scratch.
